Privacy Policy

Effective September 29, 2026

ListenHere is designed as a private, local-first memory journal. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the ListenHere app or this support website.

Information you add

You may choose to add photos, audio recordings, titles, captions, dates, locations, journal assignments, and edits to ListenHere. This content is stored locally on your device. ListenHere does not require an account, and the developer does not receive your memory content.

Device permissions

ListenHere may request access to your camera, microphone, photo library, files, and location when those capabilities are needed. Permission is requested through Apple’s system controls. You can review or change permissions at any time in Settings.

Location is optional. If you allow it, ListenHere can use a location as a starting point for a memory. Denying location access does not prevent you from creating memories.

Storage and deletion

Memory metadata and managed media files are stored in the app’s local storage on your device. Deleted memories and journals may remain in Recently Deleted for up to 30 days unless you permanently delete them sooner. Removing the app can also remove locally stored app data, subject to your device and backup settings.

Sharing

ListenHere does not publish your memories. When you deliberately use a sharing feature, Apple’s system share sheet sends only the content you select to the person, app, or service you choose. That destination handles the shared content under its own privacy practices.

Apple services

Features such as maps, location-name lookup, photo selection, and the system share sheet use services provided by Apple. Apple may process information needed to provide those services under Apple’s privacy policy. ListenHere does not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

Support communications

If you email for support, the developer receives the information you include in the message and uses it to respond to your request. Please avoid sending private photos, recordings, or precise locations unless they are necessary for support.

This website

This static support website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or contact forms. It is hosted by GitHub Pages, so GitHub may process basic connection information when the site is loaded under GitHub’s own privacy practices.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when ListenHere’s features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will show the latest revision.
